Amsterdam Passes Budget

The Amsterdam Conmon Council approved a 2020-2021 budget that calls for a more than 4% tax increase. The Recorder reports the $35.3 million dollar spending plan increases the tax rate by 73 cents to $18.10 per $1000 of assed value. That rate is about a dime lower than the budget proposed by Mayor Michael Cinquanti. Projected revenues for the budget are $26.4 million which leaves the city about $8.9 million short.
