Church Street Project May Be Delayed

It’s looking like reconstruction of Church Street in Amsterdam that was to begin this year may not happen as planned. According to the Daily Gazette City Engineer Richard Miller says the $1.9 million project can’t begin until the city gets approval for grants obtained by State Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara and State Senator George Amedore. Miller says he doesn’t have word on when that final approval will come. Temporary repairs were done last fall in anticipaion of the larger project this year.
